BEST OF LUCK TEAM OLYMPICS!

BEST OF LUCK TEAM OLYMPICS!

India is associated with the power of unity, democracy and diversity. But very important power which is a necessity of the modern era and should be taken into consideration is “manpower”. India being the second largest populated country has phenomenal strength as far as human resource is concerned. And this should form our foundation for a bright and successful future. As each individual constituting the population has the credentials and caliber to make the country proud in some way or the other. Their contribution towards various spheres shall be priceless.

It will be some among the many who will and want to create a niche for themselves in academics, politics, entertainment or sports for that matter. It’s us who shall add the feather to the crown. There are many who have brought laurels to the country in varied field but presently the attention is inclined more towards sports because of the entire mullah surrounding the Olympics, 2012.

If the pages of history are turned then what can be accounted is a very glorious Olympiad past. Going down the history, 1900 was the thresh hold year for India in Olympics in Paris. India was represented by Norman Pritchard in athletics and India bagged for the first time silver medals. And then after the gap of twenty years India participated yet again in Antwerp Olympics (1920) and Paris Olympics (1924) with eight members. Seeing the potential of the country ‘National Olympic Committee’ then, now ‘Indian Olympic Association’ was created in 1927. The following year of 1928 was exceptional year as Indian Hockey did not only participated and won gold medals but also retained it for next six consecutive years spanning twenty eight years from 1928-1956. The first gold medal was won under the captaincy of Jaipal Singh. After this the hiatus has been long of low profile but the spirits could not be boggled down. However, 2008 was the another year which could be reckoned with display of great sportsmanship, with India winning three Olympics medals in three different sports and also India won its first ever individual Olympic medal,  won by Abhinav Bindra. If the tally is done for the medals won in the yesteryears then the count is 4 silvers, 9 gold and 7 bronze. And the only motto of 2012 Olympics London is to increase the count of medals by leap and bound.

India is blessed with unbound potential which is gradually being tapped by various required sources. And this Olympic in London has kindled a hope of thousands that India shall hoist her flag of victory.  With hopes and aspirations piling all that can be done is to keep the fingers crossed and clasped as well. Like many the only thought rolling in the mind to give the best shot in London. Thus, all luck and best wishes are coming on the way to the Indian Olympic Squad and it’s a hope to see the headlines of leading daily echoing the achievement. Best of Luck shall be the synthesis of the topic.
